It began as a small boutique hotel and from the outset. The vision was to create a hotel experience that was as ‘unlike’ any other hotel. The hotel's mission statement and operating philosophy are the guidelines for the business. They remain the core foundation of the way the 5 star hotel in South Africa works. Over the years, Cape Grace Hotel has extended its inventory. This has come to include the addition of 17 Rooftop Terrace Rooms. The rooms come in a cool hue of blue, warm shades of red and rich tones of green and gold. Each of the 120 guest rooms and suites is completely unique and has its own “story”. Facilities at Cape Grace Hotel
Breaking through lower sea-level gave rise to Bascule Whisky Wine and Cocktail bar. This came with custom-built whisky lockers and a wine cellar. Bascule has established itself as an industry leader for whisky enthusiasts. It has also captured ‘a slice of Cape Town social energy’. This is because of its many more beverage offerings. In 2008 Cape Grace Hotel undertook an extensive refashioning of the entire facility. Work included 120 custom-decorated rooms and suites. All features exquisite furniture, rich fabrics and intriguing detail. they all reflecting the charm of the Cape.
The final element in the transformation process was Cape Grace hotel restaurant. This was formerly named one waterfront. It has been renamed Signal, after Cape Town’s iconic Signal Hill. This hill can be seen through the room’s wall of French windows. The restaurant features aged Yellow-wood furniture and eccentric hand-crafted chandeliers. There is a 100-foot, hand-painted wall tapestry depicting Table Bay in the 16th century. Signal restaurant sets the tone for a new level of hotel dining. there is creative Cape cuisine that is fresh and inviting.
The Fitness Studio is next to the Spa opened at the end of May 2012. It is located on the top floor and offers views of the colorful V&A working harbor. Here you have state-of-the-art equipment to guarantee a good workout. May 2013, ahead of ‘World Whisky Day’, Bascule Bar unveiled a new look. Consultant team, Design 360 achieved a contemporary twist on the bar’s interior. They did this whilst preserving the hotel’s rich Cape heritage and cherished old-world charm.
Ahead of the 2014 summer season, Cape Grace launched two new function venues. These were for business and social events. There is a newly refashioned, luxurious Pool and Outdoor deck. Reminiscent of a Mediterranean yacht, guests revel in an elegant and relaxing experience. This is in the opulent Waterfront Yacht Marina. It has views of the majestic Table Mountain in the background.
Cancellation / Prepayment
PAYMENT & RESERVATIONS POLICY
Reservation and confirmation of a room at Cape Grace Hotel has requirements. Clients are required to pay 50% down payment for the requested services. The balance will be required at least 14 days prior to your date of arrival.
African Safari Tour will hold a reservation for up to seven days at a client's request. This is to allow the client time to send a deposit payment. This is if Cape Grace Hotel booking are over a month prior to the service. This must be received before we can confirm your booking. If confirmation is not received within the seven days all blocked rooms at Cape Grace Hotel will be automatically released for re-sale. The full amount of the service must be made within 14 days of date of arrival at Cape Grace Hotel. As for bookings within a month of service, full payment shall be requested for. This will be required before confirmation of Cape Grace Hotel is undertaken.
All cancellations must be received in writing. This will take effect from the date received by African Safari Tour. The following cancellation charges will apply.
More than 56 days before departure: No cancellation fee
56-49 days before departure: 25%
48-29 days before departure: 35%
28-0 days before departure: 100%
The non-issuing of an invoice or non-payment of deposit will not exempt passengers from these cancellation and administration fees. We regret we can make no exception to the charges and strongly recommend that insurance is taken out to cover cancellation fees. These cancellation charges can vary subject to the trading terms of our suppliers.
Children and extra beds
Children older than 2 years are welcome at Cape Grace Hotel. One child from 2 to 11.9 years is charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person in an extra bed.
The maximum number of extra beds for children in a room is 2.
Any type of extra bed or child's cot/crib is upon request and needs to be confirmed by management.
Supplements are not calculated automatically in the total costs and will have to be paid for separately during your stay.
