Day 1: Entebbe – Kampala
Meet and greet for the 5 days tour Murchison Falls upon arrival at the Entebbe International Airport. With the help of our representative, enjoy a transfer to Kampala. Drop off will be at the Metropole Hotel in Kampala. This is booked on bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
Our driver guide will be at your Kampala hotel at 0630hrs. You will be briefed on this 5 day tour Murchison Falls before departure. Drive to Murchison Falls National Park through the Luwero Triangle. The drive takes you past the western arm of the Great Rift Valley. You will have the first break at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary.
About Ziwa rhino Sanctuary
This is the ONLY PLACE in Uganda that is home to one of the big five, the rhino. Not just any other giant but the second largest of the land animals, the Southern White Rhino. Additionally, Ziwa sanctuary is home to at least 40 mammal and reptilian species. They include monkey, antelope, hippopotamus and crocodile. At the sanctuary you can enjoy birding, canoe rides and nature walks.
If I were you, other than the rhino track I would look forward to ‘a faceoff’ with the beautiful archaic looking shoebill stork also known as the whale head among other 326 recorded bird species within the sanctuary.
Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is a collaborative effort between the Rhino Fund Uganda, a Ugandan NGO committed to the restoration of Uganda’s rhinoceros population and the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). The sanctuary offers a secure place where rhino populations can be expanded by breeding and protected from human and non-human predators.
The sanctuary is located approximately 180 kilometers (110 mi), by road, north of Kampala, Uganda’s capital and largest city. This location is near Nakitoma Village, Nakasongola District, in the Kafu River Basin, off the Kampala-Gulu Highway.
You will break for lunch before the 5 day tour Murchison Falls proceeds to Murchison Fall National Park. Upon arrival head straight to the Top of the falls. At this point the River Nile forces itself through a narrow gorge to fall a distance of 45 meters deep. This produces a loud roar of white water providing beautiful scenery, it’s amazing. After spending some time at the top of the falls you will transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Dinner and overnight at Sambiya River Lodge.
Day 3: Game Drives and Boat Cruise in Murchison Falls National Park
The 5 days tour Murchison falls wakes up to an early breakfast. This is before sunrise and you will go for a game drive in the northern part of the Murchison Falls National Park. During the drive you should expect game like elephants, hyenas, Lions, hyenas, leopards, antelopes, and plenty of birds. After the game drive you will return to the Lodge for rest as we wait for lunch. After lunch we shall go for a launch cruise of the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls. The boat ride will reward you with animals like the Hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and others. Dinner and overnight at Sambiya River Lodge.

Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s oldest and largest conservation area. It covers an area of 3,840 Km². Murchison Falls National Park is home to over 451 bird species (including the highly sought after and rare shoebill stork) and 76 different mammal species, including giraffe. Other game sightings regularly include lion, elephant, hippo, leopard, buffalo, hyena, warthog and various antelope.
Arguably the highlight of this trip is the mighty River Nile, which bisects the park and is forced through an 8m² wide cleft in the rock at Murchison Falls, plunging into the Devil’s Cauldron below. This is a perfect National Park for those looking for a classic African safari experience in Uganda!
Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking
Wake up to breakfast on the 5 days tour Murchison Falls in the morning before being transferred to Kaniyo Pabidi area to go track chimpanzees. The walk will reward you with other primates like the Black and white monkeys and others. After tracking chimpanzee you will return to the lodge for late lunch. After lunch you may go for embark on a few hours of rest before the late afternoon game drive. You will be targeting what you did not see in your earlier game drive. Return to Sambiya River Lodge in time for dinner and overnight.
Day 5; Drive back to Kampala
You will wake up for breakfast before embarking on a game drive on the southern part of Murchison Falls National Park. The Game drive will take you till mid-morning when you return to the lodge for check out. Depart and drive out of the park to Masindi Town where you will have lunch. Your 5 days tour Murchison Falls proceeds to Kampala with arrival late in the afternoon. Proceed to Entebbe in time for your late evening flight.
