Agama River Camp is situated on the C19. This is 30 kms south of Solitaire and 50 kms north of Sesriem. It is approximately forty five minutes from the main gate way to Sossusvlei. It is one of the best places to spend the night when on Sossusvlei tour. Most visitors utilize Agama River Camp facilities as an overnight access point. It is also a good stop over to the Namib Naukluft hiking trails.

Agama River Camp also offers self guided walks into the mountains when on Namibia tours. Group pre-arranged meals, events as well as breakfast packs are available. For those who don’t have camping equipment they will provide tents. You will also get bedding, crockery and cutlery for an additional fee. Agama River Camp does also supply a limited amount of firewood but not ice cubes.

Agama River Camp Chalets
Agama River Camp chalets are situated on the upper banks of the ‘Dieprevier’ river course. Each chalet is thirty two square meters, and twenty five meters adrift. Each chalet has A/C, two modern three quarter beds and side tables with lamps. There is also an open cupboard and a long wall mounted table. This can be used to put a suitcase on or apply make-up from.
The chalets have a strong desk fan for air circulation and a portable lamp for emergencies. One is provided with two extra blankets for the cold nights. Two chairs are also provided inside the room and two for the veranda. The bathroom has a large spacious shower with hand basin and mirror. The toilet is a separate facility separated by a solid door. Each Chalet has a solid deck for the option of sleeping under the sky. This deck can also help to give you an elevated view.
Available also to all Agama occupants is the friendly restaurant. Here there is great food and a cozy bar, as well as a sunset viewing deck and swimming pool.
Agama River Camp Sites
The Agama river camp sites are scattered along the lower ‘dieprevier’ river course. Each campsite is built under large acacia trees. They are surrounded partially by a wooden pole barrier acting as a wind shield. It also helps to offer some privacy. They are terraced and leveled with clean river sand.
Each site contains; a free standing tap, wash up facility and a braai area with grid. There is a twelve volt energy saving light. This can be attached to your car battery. The camp
