Agama River Camp
Agama River Camp is situated on the C19. This is 30 kms south of Solitaire and 50 kms north of Sesriem. It is approximately forty five minutes from the main gate way to Sossusvlei. Most visitors utilize Agama River Camp facilities as an overnight access point. It is also a good stop over to the Namib Naukluft hiking trails. Agama River Camp also offers self guided walks into the mountains. Group pre-arranged meals, events as well as breakfast packs are available. For those who don’t have camping equipment they will provide tents. You will also get bedding, crockery and cutlery for an additional fee. Agama River Camp does also supply a limited amount of firewood but not ice cubes. The camp is connected to the main grid (Nampower). Therefore Agama River Camp chalets and restaurant have a reliable power supply. The campsite and chalets are on a small personalized scale. There is a swimming pool, sunset deck and fully licensed bar. These are available to all the residents. All meals should be pre-booked as the menus are pre-set.
Agama River Camp Chalets
Agama River Camp chalets are situated on the upper banks of the ‘Dieprevier’ river course. Each chalet is thirty two square meters, and twenty five meters adrift. Each chalet has A/C, two modern three quarter beds and side tables with lamps. There is also an open cupboard and a long wall mounted table. This can be used to put a suitcase on or apply make-up from. The chalets have a strong desk fan for air circulation and a portable lamp for emergencies. One is provided with two extra blankets for the cold nights. Two chairs are also provided inside the room and two for the veranda. The bathroom has a large spacious shower with hand basin and mirror. The toilet is a separate facility separated by a solid door. Each Chalet has a solid deck for the option of sleeping under the sky. This deck can also help to give you an elevated view.
Available also to all Agama occupants is the friendly restaurant. Here there is great food and a cozy bar, as well as a sunset viewing deck and swimming pool.
Agama River Camp Sites
The Agama river camp sites are scattered along the lower ‘dieprevier’ river course. Each campsite is built under large acacia trees. They are surrounded partially by a wooden pole barrier acting as a wind shield. It also helps to offer some privacy. They are terraced and leveled with clean river sand.
Each site contains; a free standing tap, wash up facility and a braai area with grid. There is a twelve volt energy saving light. This can be attached to your car battery. The campsite is easy walking distance to your shared ablution facility.
The communal ablution facility is like no other. They come with open skies and large roomy, individually decorated chambers. Hot water is provided by wood boilers every afternoon at around five o’clock. The ablutions are spacious, clean and imaginatively designed. Each gender facility has six showers, six wash basins, three toilets, four mirrors and one bath. They are only partially covered to offer open sky views. The lighting is on throughout the night.
Cancellation / Prepayment
PAYMENT & RESERVATIONS POLICY
Reservation and confirmation of a room at Agama River Camp has requirements. Clients are required to pay 50% down payment for the requested services. The balance will be required at least 14 days prior to your date of arrival.
African Safari Tour will hold a reservation for up to seven days at a client's request. This is to allow the client time to send a deposit payment. This is if Agama River Camp booking are over a month prior to the service. This must be received before we can confirm your booking. If confirmation is not received within the seven days all blocked rooms at Agama River Camp will be automatically released for re-sale. The full amount of the service must be made within 14 days of date of arrival at Agama River Camp. As for bookings within a month of service, full payment shall be requested for. This will be required before confirmation of Agama River Camp is undertaken.
All cancellations must be received in writing. This will take effect from the date received by African Safari Tour. The following cancellation charges will apply.
More than 56 days before departure: No cancellation fee
56-49 days before departure: 25%
48-29 days before departure: 35%
28-0 days before departure: 100%
The non-issuing of an invoice or non-payment of deposit will not exempt passengers from these cancellation and administration fees. We regret we can make no exception to the charges and strongly recommend that insurance is taken out to cover cancellation fees. These cancellation charges can vary subject to the trading terms of our suppliers.
Children and extra beds
Children older than 2 years are welcome at Agama River Camp. One child from 2 to 11.9 years is charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person in an extra bed.
The maximum number of extra beds for children in a room is 2.
Any type of extra bed or child's cot/crib is upon request and needs to be confirmed by management.
Supplements are not calculated automatically in the total costs and will have to be paid for separately during your stay.
