Facilities at Cape Grace Hotel

Breaking through lower sea-level gave rise to Bascule Whisky Wine and Cocktail bar. This came with custom-built whisky lockers and a wine cellar. Over the years, Bascule has established itself as an industry leader for whisky enthusiasts.

It has also captured ‘a slice of Cape Town social energy’. This is because of its many additional beverage offerings. In 2008 Cape Grace Hotel undertook an extensive refashioning of the entire facility. Work included 120 individually custom-decorated rooms and suites.

All featuring exquisite furniture, rich fabrics and intriguing detail all reflecting the charm of the Cape.

The final element in the transformation process was Cape Grace hotel restaurant. This was formerly named one waterfront. It has been renamed Signal, after Cape Town’s iconic Signal Hill. This hill can be seen through the room’s wall of French windows.

The restaurant features aged Yellow-wood furniture and eccentric hand-crafted chandeliers. There is a 100-foot, hand-painted wall tapestry depicting Table Bay in the 16th century. Signal restaurant sets the tone for a new level of hotel dining, creative Cape cuisine that is fresh and inviting.

The Fitness Studio is adjacent to the Spa opened at the end of May 2012. It is located on the top floor and offers views of the colorful V&A working harbor. Here you have state-of-the-art equipment to guarantee a good workout.

May 2013, ahead of ‘World Whisky Day’, Bascule Bar unveiled a new look. Consultant team, Design 360, artfully achieved a contemporary twist on the bar’s interior design. They did this whilst preserving the hotel’s rich Cape heritage and cherished old world charm.

Ahead of the 2014 summer season, Cape Grace launched two new function venues. These were for business and social events and a newly refashioned, luxurious Pool and Outdoor deck. Reminiscent of a glamorous Mediterranean yacht, guests will revel in an elegant and relaxing outdoor experience.
