Rhino Valley Lodge in Tsavo West National Park was formerly known as Ngulia Safari Camp or Ngulia Bandas.

Rhino valley lodge is nestled in the middle of the vast Tsavo West National Park located 40 km from Mtito Andei gate and 50 km from the Tsavo River gate. The lodge is located about 260 km from Nairobi and 250 km from Mombasa.

Accommodation at Rhino Valley Lodge

Rhino Valley lodge contains sixteen spacious and comfortable en suite rooms that are built in traditional African style with grass thatched roof with modern comfort.

Rhino Valley Lodge in Tsavo West National Park has 6 standard rooms, 10 luxury rooms (Rock Rooms offering a unique caveman experience), 6 self-catering bandas each equipped with an en-suite twin room and a well-equipped kitchenette, and a camp-site with bathroom facilities.

Rooms are well decorated and furnished with private en suite facilities like flushing toilets, hot and cold showers/Bathtubs, mosquito nets, hair driers, and private Verandas, terraces and sitting areas.

You relax while enjoying the stunning view of the waterhole and animals visiting the park and surrounding area. Rooms are well equipped with Satellite, TVs, extinguishers with comfortable clean beddings and ceiling fans.

There are fireplaces at the lodge that provides warmth to visitors staying at the lodges. Rooms are in different categories like single, double, twin and triple/family rooms and room cost 200$ per night and above.

The bandas are set against the backdrop of the rugged but scenic Ngulia Hills. There are 6 self-catering bandas, each tastefully furnished with rugged twin beds, a well-equipped kitchenette, and a complete bathroom suite that will provide the comforts of home away from home.

Note that in High season the rate goes slightly high than in Low season.

Where is Rhino Valley Lodge

Rhino Valley Lodge is located in Tsavo West National park. Tsavo national park is the best tourist destination made of two parks located in Kenya Province between Nairobi city and Mombasa , The park is considered to be among the largest parks in Kenya covering the total area of 22,000km squared .

The two different parks in Tsavo national park include; Tsavo east national park which is the oldest and largest park in Kenya found in the semi-arid areas of Taru desert occupying the total area of 13,747 kilometers squared and Tsavo west national park also covers the total area of 9,065 kilometers squared .

Tsavo west national park was separated by railway and Nairobi- Mombasa road from adjoining Tsavo east national park. The two parks are most visited with different categories of accommodations; Budget, Mid-range and Luxury accommodation that are convenient and affordable to visitors visiting the park.

Tsavo national park has a variety of wildlife like; Huge number of Elephants, Rhinos, Hippos, Buffaloes, Zebras, Leopards, Giraffes, Cheetahs, Lions Etc and over 500 species of birds like; ostriches, starling, weaver birds, Kingfishers, hornbills, etc.

How to Get to Rhino Valley Lodge

Rhino Valley Lodge is a mid-range accommodation found inside Tsavo west national park just close to the main gate mtito, just 40km.

One can use road transport from Nairobi International airport since it’s the gateway destination to the different national parks in Kenya which takes approximately 5-6 hours drive ( 405 Km) from Nairobi to the park and also air transport from Nairobi which takes 2 hours to fly to the nearest airstrip in the park.

Services and Facilities at Rhino Valley Camp

Rhino valley lodge offers more services and facilities which include; A restaurant that serves different meals both international and African- inspired meals that meet guests appetite i.e. breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

These are served by well trained, friendly and organized staff, they also serve bush dinners, a well-stocked bar/lounge with variety of drinks, local, cocktail, wines, spirits and international beers.

The camp has a blue water swimming pool that cools off the hot afternoon with a pool bar, you relax in water and sip the cocktail or monk tail while overlooking the waterhole and the spectacular view of the Chaimu crater, Roaring rock, the park and surrounding area.
