Tena Tena Camp
Tena Tena is situated in the exclusive Nsefu Sector. The Tena Tena camp sits nestled under a magnificent and thick grove of mahogany trees. This luxury camp in Zambia is on a double tiered river bank. Each room enjoys its own private view onto a long stretch of the Luangwa River. Tena Tena is synonymous with Robin and was the first camp thath Robin opened and ran.
The South Luangwa National Park marks the end of the Great Rift Valley. It is one of the last remaining unspoilt wilderness areas. It is among the finest wildlife sanctuary in Africa. The claim which is not an overstatement. The park is 9050sq kilometer in size. It is where the great meandering Luangwa River runs. It comes with its ox bow lagoons, tributaries, riverine. They support woodlands and large plains and play host to huge concentrations of game. They are elephant, buffalo, leopard, lion, giraffe, hippo and over 450 species of birds
The Tena Tena Camp
Tena Tena when translated means “temporary home”. This is the feeling that This luxury safari camp in Zambia has tried to emulate throughout. But the camp comes with a twist of luxury and comfort.
The six tents are very private with plenty of space between them. Each has its own window onto a magnificent stretch of the Luangwa River. This is the where the hippos wallow and the lions roam. The en-suite bathrooms are spacious and open to the elements. They are designed to copy nature with curved walls around the trees. There are simple subtle colors and a view from every facility. Each tent is specifically located to maximize privacy both in the rooms. The bathrooms and on the verandahs are comfortable sitting areas. They all enjoy excellent views onto the river.
The main area is molded around a large termite mound and mahogany tree. There is an old hippo run adapted into Tena Tena path. This is between the different levels and is shaded by an enormous tent. This is strung up between Leadwood poles. Tena Tena has plenty of different seating areas. There is space to relax and unwind whilst reflecting on the day's African safari in Zambia. This is often before sitting down to a beautiful dinner on the banks of the Luangwa. The dinner is often done under the stars and enjoying the sounds of the African night.

This luxury camp in Zambia is small and intimate. It can only take in up to of twelve guests. It is run by an experienced team whom are all passionate about their job. The level of service that they and the camp provide for the guests is extraordinary. The space within the tents allows for increased privacy for the guests. Every room is specifically designed and located to blend into its environment. This has been done without compromising on the best possible view onto the river. The camp is run entirely by solar power. This enables the rooms to have electricity throughout the day and night.
Cancellation / Prepayment
PAYMENT & RESERVATIONS POLICY
Reservation and confirmation of a room at Tena Tena Camp, Zambia has requirements. Clients are required to pay 50% down payment for the requested services. The balance will be required at least 14 days prior to your date of arrival.
African Safari Tour will hold a reservation for up to seven days at a client's request. This is to allow the client time to send a deposit payment. This is if booking are over a month prior to the service. This must be received before we can confirm your booking. If confirmation is not received within the seven days all blocked rooms at Tena Tena Camp, Zambia will be automatically released for re-sale. The full amount of the service must be made within 14 days of date of arrival at Tena Tena Camp, Zambia. As for bookings within a month of service, full payment shall be requested for. This will be required before confirmation of Tena Tena Camp, Zambiai is undertaken.
All cancellations must be received in writing. This will take effect from the date received by African Safari Tour. The following cancellation charges will apply.
More than 56 days before departure: No cancellation fee
56-49 days before departure: 25%
48-29 days before departure: 35%
28-0 days before departure: 100%
The non-issuing of an invoice or non-payment of deposit will not exempt passengers from these cancellation and administration fees. We regret we can make no exception to the charges and strongly recommend that insurance is taken out to cover cancellation fees. These cancellation charges can vary subject to the trading terms of our suppliers.
Children and extra beds
Children older than 2 years are welcome at Tena Tena Camp, Zambia. One child from 2 to 11 years is charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person in an extra bed.
The maximum number of extra beds for children in a room is 1.
Any type of extra bed or child's cot/crib is upon request and needs to be confirmed by management.
Supplements are not calculated automatically in the total costs and will have to be paid for separately during your stay.
