The Bird House
It is perched on a cliff; the Bird House features a large suspended deck. It has a claw footed, open-air bathtub and a private terrace for dining under the stars. There is immense sliding wood and glass windows. It allows you to carry the sunset and the sounds of the river into the room with you.
The Tree House
It is a hidden path winds away from the main areas and along the cliff face to our secluded Tree House. The Tree house is set against the basalt rock bed. It is among the branches of three riverine Ebony trees. This house spreads out over a sustainable pine deck. This guarantees incredible views of the Zambezi River.
The king size bed has a large, canopied mosquito net with air conditioning. The extensive space can also be used for private dining and lounging. The bathroom's crowning glory is a perfectly positioned claw footed bath. There are the Anatolian carpets to the Asian chests and West African artwork in the house. This makes the Tree House invokes exotic day dreams.
The front facade of the Tree House is completely open. This makes this house so much part of the surroundings. You can experience the beauty and majesty of Zambia without setting a foot outside.
THE DOG HOUSE
The Dog House occupies another world at the furthest edges of the Tongabezi garden. It is the perfect escape for families and friends who love travel and do so together, a luxury hideaway of your own.
Here, three separate decks are connected to each other and the rest of the world. This is only by elevated walkways. Sustainable pine forests have provided the beautiful wooden decking. This is raised high enough. This is to allow mighty Zambezi River to run underneath all the rooms during high water. Guests can enjoy only their own private plunge pool. This is an exclusive chill and dining area, complete with a bar that used to be a boat and a table that was once a door.
The Nut House
This is a haven from the elements. The Nut House is entirely enclosed with light streaming in through every wall. The best art, textiles and textures are combined from around the African continent. This is with design elements from Morocco, Mali, Zambia and South Africa.
The palette is easy on the eyes blending the house into Zambia's natural scenery. Folding doors open onto the elevated private garden and infinity plunge pool. Spectacular views over the Zambezi are guaranteed.
The Garden House
The Garden House perfectly fills the family travel niche at Tongabezi. It is set back from the river, seclusion and shelter offer. It is a happy alternative to the sweeping Zambezi views that can still be enjoyed from any of the main lodge decks.
It is a very private, very safe space where all the members of the family can spread out. Enjoy a little and indulge in an exclusive dining room. There is a large lounge, two en-suite bedrooms and of course run around the garden. You can get to cool off in the private plunge pool.
Thrilling Boat Rides from the Safari Lodge in Zambia
Tongabezi offer thrilling boat trips to Livingstone Island. It is from here that David Livingstone caught his first glimpse of the mighty falls. Guests can also stay on their private island, Sindabezi. This is an exclusive camp on the Zambezi River.

There is a dedicated dining area in all our Houses and Cottages.
Choose to dine with other guests or at a private table on one of three open air dining decks. You can use gorgeous new dining room and bar, raised above the other decks to afford a perfect view of the river.
Cancellation / Prepayment
PAYMENT & RESERVATIONS POLICY
Reservation and confirmation of a room at Tongabezi Lodge Zambia has requirements. Clients are required to pay 50% down payment for the requested services. The balance will be required at least 14 days prior to your date of arrival.
African Safari Tour will hold a reservation for up to seven days at a client's request. This is to allow the client time to send a deposit payment. This is if Tongabezi Lodge Zambia booking are over a month prior to the service. This must be received before we can confirm your booking. If confirmation is not received within the seven days all blocked rooms at Tongabezi Lodge Zambia will be automatically released for re-sale. The full amount of the service must be made within 14 days of date of arrival at Tongabezi Lodge Zambia. As for bookings within a month of service, full payment shall be requested for. This will be required before confirmation of Tongabezi Lodge Zambia is undertaken.
All cancellations must be received in writing. This will take effect from the date received by African Safari Tour. The following cancellation charges will apply.
More than 56 days before departure: No cancellation fee
56-49 days before departure: 25%
48-29 days before departure: 35%
28-0 days before departure: 100%
The non-issuing of an invoice or non-payment of deposit will not exempt passengers from these cancellation and administration fees. We regret we can make no exception to the charges and strongly recommend that insurance is taken out to cover cancellation fees. These cancellation charges can vary subject to the trading terms of our suppliers.
Children and extra beds
Children older than 2 years are welcome at Tongabezi Lodge Zambia. One child from 2 to 11.9 years is charged 50 % of the room stay per night and person in an extra bed.
The maximum number of extra beds for children in a room is 2.
Any type of extra bed or child's cot/crib is upon request and needs to be confirmed by management.
Supplements are not calculated automatically in the total costs and will have to be paid for separately during your stay.
