Day 1: KAMPALA - QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
You will be met for Queen Elizabeth Safari in Uganda by our rep. He will brief you on this African safari in Uganda before you leave Kampala.
The drive will go through Uganda's beautiful green countryside. Watch out for the Equator en-route as well as plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits.
Proceed to the Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving in time for lunch. After lunch proceed for an evening game drive where you will also see the crater Lakes. Return back for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge.
About Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National park was first gazzetted in 1952. It was then the Kaziga National park. It was later named Queen Elizabeth National park.
The park covers 1978 square kilometers. It is located on the rift valley between the Lakes of George and Edward. The two lakes harbors supports of mammals and birds.
The eastern rift valley of the park was marked up by the green escarpment of the western Rift valley. The hills, mountains and lakes are surrounded by the endless savanna.
The park ‘s temperature rises from 18 -28 degrees Celsius. The park receives 1250mm of rain during the months March, May, September and November. It is a home for 9 threatened mammals
The western Rift Valley covers over 2500 square kilometres, encompassing Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kyambura wildlife reserve and Kigezi wildlife reserve.
This protected area starts from the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains in the north. It stretches to the Ishasha bordering in the south. The park falls within 5 districts of Kabarole, Kasese, Rubirizi, Rukungiri and Kanungu.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is a protected area for a wide variety of habitats. they range from savanna and wetlands of the forest. Water is the dominate landscape, with 250 kilometers of lakeshores.
There is Lake Edward and the kazinga channel. Let us not forget Lake George, the Ishasha River and series of crater lakes. All these provide a rich habitat for both mammals and birds. This offers wonderful wildlife viewing opportunities for the visitors,
Day 2. QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast we'll go for a morning game drive in the Park. Expect to see the famous 4 of the Big Five. They include Elephant, Buffalos, Lions and the leopard. Others are Bush bucks, Kobs, Giant forest hog, Hyenas and Waterbucks.
In the afternoon we'll take a launch cruise along the amazing Kazinga channel. Here you will appreciate the scores of Hippos, Buffalos, and Crocodiles. You will be observing them close to the waterside as well as the rare Leopard prowling.
There is a variety of bird species especially the famous Shoebill, pelican and Jacana. Dinner and overnight will be at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 3. QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK - KAMPALA
Wake up to an early breakfast at your Queen Elizabeth safari lodge. With game drive as you leave, check out of the park.
You will be driving back to Kampala. You will arrive early in the afternoon. Drop off will be at your Kampala hotel.
