Detailed 5 Day Luxury Gorilla Trek Uganda Safari
Day 1: KAMPALA – BWINDI FOREST NATIONAL PARK
Meet and greet will be by our Uganda safari rep at your luxury hotel in Kampala. You will get some time for a briefing on the luxury gorilla trek Uganda safari.
Enjoy a transfer to Entebbe in time for the 1245 hrs flight to Kihihi. You will be met on arrival at the airstrip by our guide. You will drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive at your Bwindi luxury accommodation in time for late lunch.
Afternoon will be spent exploring the local villages. This will include a visit to the Batwaa people. They are also referred to as the pigmies. Return to Buhoma Homestead in time for dinner and overnight.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in southwestern Uganda. It is a magnificent verdant swathe across the steep ridges of the Albertine Rift Valley. This ancient rain forest is one of the few in Africa to have flourished. It is a home to half of the world’s endangered population of mountain gorillas.
Looking into the expressive brown eyes of these giants is a one in a lifetime activity. It is the most exciting and poignant wildlife encounter Uganda has to offer.
The Impenetrable Forest Reserve was gazetted in 1942. It was upgraded to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in 1992. It is recognized as a World Heritage Site in 1994. In the local Rukiga language, Bwindi actually means ‘Impenetrable.’
Bwindi can be cold especially in the morning and at night. The annual average temperature range is 2 -20-degree Celcius. The coldest period being June and July.
Warm clothing is required plus wet weather gear. Bwindi receives up to 2390 mm of rain/year. This is concentrated during two wet seasons. We have the short rains in March-May and heavy rains in September-November. Instead of short tropical deluges, rain in Bwindi often falls as long hours of soft drizzle.
Day 2: BWINDI FOREST NATIONAL PARK
Start the luxury gorilla trek Uganda safari with an early breakfast. You will then head to the park offices to get briefed and at 8:00 am. Embark on the Uganda gorilla trek along the designated trails.

Day 3: BWINDI – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
The luxury gorilla trek Uganda safari day starts with an early breakfast. This will be followed by a drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive goes through Ishasha sector in the south of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Here you will spend some time searching for tree climbing lions. After lunch you will proceed to north to Katungulu town. You will arrive in time for an evening game drive in Queen Elizabeth.
Proceed to Mweya Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park resides in a fertile, equatorial area. The park has beautiful scenery with two lakes connected by a channel. This over-looks a high peninsula. It is Uganda’s most popular and accessible savannah reserve. Queen Elizabeth National Park has a total area of 1978 km².
Queen Elizabeth National Park is associated with grassy savannah plains. This impressive park also includes within its boundaries and leafy rain forests. There are dense papyrus swamps and natural volcanic crater lakes.
As a result, it has one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game reserve in the world. This includes a total of 95 recorded mammal species and more then 610 species of birds.
The Kyambura Gorge is home to habituated chimpanzees. Here memorable Uganda chimpanzee treks to visit these fascinating primates take place.
Maramagambo Forest harbours an alluring variety of monkey species. There are also birds and flocks of flamingos are resident on the crater lakes.

Day 4: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Start your luxury gorilla trek Uganda safari with early breakfast. This is before you undertake a game drive in the Kasenyi tracks and the Queen’s Mile. This is in the open Savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
You have the opportunity to explore a range of wild game here. They include the cape Buffaloes, Leopards, Topi, Elephants, Kobs, Waterbucks and Warthogs. You also have the Hyena, lions, side stripped jackals among other wildlife.
There is also plenty of bird species since Queen Elizabeth National Park. Return to your luxury accommodation in Queen Elizabeth. After relaxation and lunch, you will head to the Mweya Jetty. You will have an afternoon 2-hour boat cruise running along the Kazinga channel. The channel stretches from Lake George to Lake Edward covering 45km distance.
This cruise offers you an opportunity to see wildlife at close range. The cruise also offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing.
From the boat you will head to your accommodation place. Dinner and overnight will be at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 5: QUEEN ELIZABETH – KAMPALA
Start your day with an early game drive in Queen Elizabeth. Return to your lodge for breakfast at leisure. This is to be followed by a transfer to Kasese or Mweya Airstrip.
Upon arrival, you will check into the 1455 hrs flight to Entebbe. Our driver will be at hand to receive you at 1555 hrs and transfer you to Kampala. Drop off at your Kampala hotel.
