Day 1: Johannesburg
You will be met on arrival at the OR Tambo International Airport. This is done by our South African Safari Rep. You will be briefed on the 7 day South African family safari. On a private vehicle enjoy a transfer to your Johannesburg hotel. Those who arrive in the morning can schedule an optional private tour of Soweto. The story of Soweto is the story of South Africa in many ways. Soweto tour includes all the major points of interest. They are Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, Baragwanath Taxi Rank and Freedom Square. You will also visit the Hector Peterson Memorial and Nelson Mandela’s former home. You will have the night at Southern Sun O. R. Tambo International Airport Hotel.
Day 2: Johannesburg – Mpumalanga
You will wake up to an early breakfast. This is to be followed by a transfer to the airport. Your 7 day South African family safari will be heading to Mpumalanga. This is near South Africa’s largest game park. Our safari guide will meet you upon arrival. This will be followed by a road transfer to your lodge. You will embark on the afternoon game drives in open land rovers. This will be with the help of your game ranger and tracker. Here you’ll see what animals you can find both in the day and at night. Dinner and overnight will be at Savanna Lodge.
Day 3 and 4: Game Drives
Your 7 day South African family safari has two days of game drives. You will tour Kruger National Park and the Sabi Sands Game Reserve. Kruger National Park is the largest South African game park. It has more species of wildlife than most game sanctuary in Africa. Along the western border of Kruger are a number of privately owned wildlife reserves. Sabi Sands is one of those private game reserves. The two wildlife sanctuaries will give you the best of African wildlife safari. Dinner and overnight will be at Savanna Lodge.
Day 5: Mpumalanga – Cape Town
You will wake up to an early breakfast on your 7 day South African family safari. This will be followed by a transfer to the airport. Today the 7 day South African family safari flies to Cape Town. You will be met upon arrival and transferred to your Cape Town hotel. You will spend your night at Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront. This is booked on bed and breakfast basis. The Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront is ideally located on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. This hotel overlooks a private marina and famous Robben Island.
Day 6: Cape Town
This is a site seeing day of the 7 day South African family safari. Today you will enjoy a private day trip along the Cape Peninsula. Your South African family safari will drive along the False Bay coast. You will be touring Simonstown’s colony of the African Jackass Penguin. With ample time, this tour will also visit Kirstenbosch Gardens. You will drive back for overnight at Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront.
Day 7: Cape Town – Departure
You will have the morning of your South African family safari at leisure. It is a day to go shopping. Remember to pick souvenirs, crafts and gifts for those at home. Our driver guide will pick you up for the transfer. You should be at the airport in time for your departure flight.
