South African Tour

There are arts and crafts community, cosmopolitan waterfront and its own oysters! You’ll spend some time filling up your shopping bags before you proceed. The 4 day South African tour next stop will be the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Its forests, marshes and pristine beaches can be accessed by ferry. You can view the imposing sandstone Knysna Heads and beyond. This alone makes the ride a worthy venture. This 4 day South African tour will drive back to Cape Town. There will be a considerable slow down at Hermanus and Swellendam. These areas are renowned for their land-based whale watching. The 4 day South African tour departs every Wednesday.
Day 1: Cape Town – Oudtshoorn (480 Kms)
You will be met by our South African safari rep at your hotel in Cape Town. After exchanging pleasantries, you’ll have the South African tour brief. This will be followed by departure by 0730hrs from Cape Town. This South African tour will hit the road on to Stellenbosch for further pickups. Your South African tour will continue through Montagu. This is on the scenic ‘Route 62’ to the pretty village of Barrydale. You’ll have a stop here for a cup of tea on own account. You’ll proceed on to Oudtshoorn, known as the ‘feather capital of the world’. The town has a huge ostrich industry. You’ll enjoy a fascinating tour of an ostrich farm. You’ll then continue to your Oudtshoorn hotel for check in and overnight. Overnight will be at Queens Hotel booked on bed and breakfast.
Day 2: Oudtshoorn – Knysna (200kms)
Your South African tour day starts with an early breakfast. You’ll then go underground to marvel at the icy formations. Cango Caves is regarded as one of South Africa’s most spectacular natural wonders. Your South African tour drives via the spectacular Outeniqua Pass to George Town. You’ll then proceed on to Knysna. It is perhaps South Africa’s most visually stunning resort. The town is in the heart of the famous Garden Route. You’ll spend the rest of the day discovering the joys of the town. There are many art galleries, craft shops and coffee bars. Your will spend your night at Knysna Hollow Country Estate. This is booked on half board basis that includes breakfast and dinner.
Day 3: Knysna
You’ll spend your South African tour in Knysna. You’ll cruise on the vast Knysna Lagoon and visit Featherbed Nature Reserve. Enjoy an amazing view of the imposing sandstone ‘Heads’. These guard the sea entrance to Knysna’s huge tidal lagoon. It also includes the forests, marshes and pristine beaches surrounding it. You’ll have the rest of the day at leisure, enjoying this lovely and special town. Your night will be at Knysna Hollow Country Estate on half board basis.
Day 4: Port Elizabeth (315 Kms)
You’ll begin tour South African tour with breakfast. This morning you’ll explore part of the glorious indigenous Tsitsikamma Forest. You’ll also enjoy spectacular coastal views from the Storms River mouth. Your South African tour will drive on to Port Elizabeth. You are expected to arrive mid-afternoon. This South African tour will end at approximately 1430hrs. You’ll either be dropped off at airport or at a central hotel.
