About the 11 Day Tanzania Romantic Safari

On this Tanzania Romantic safari you will experience the thrill of the great Serengeti in Tanzania. You will spend your nights of Tanzania Romantic safari with a stay at Kirawira Serena.

This Serengeti luxury camp is spectacularly situated adjacent to the ‘western corridor’. This is where the famous Grumeti River migration crossing occurs. This will later be followed by a flight to Zanzibar to explore historic Stone Town.

You will enjoy relaxing on a turquoise beach while on Tanzania Romantic safari here. All local flights, transfers, game drives & park fees included in the Tanzania Romantic safari package.

Tanzania Romantic Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha

You will be met by out Tanzania safari representative. This will be on arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport. You will be briefed on the Tanzania romantic safari before an hour’s transfer to Arusha.

You will check into your Arusha hotel in this warm and friendly town in the northern highlands. Arusha is situated beneath the twin peaks of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro. It was formerly an administrative centre in German East Africa. You are booked on bed and breakfast basis.

Day 2: Arusha – Serengeti National Park

You will start your Tanzania Romantic safari day with an early breakfast. This will be followed by a transfer to Arusha Airport. You will be in time for your flight to the great Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is a Maasai word that means ‘Endless Plains’. Serengeti National Park is a World Heritage site.

This park hosts the largest and longest wildlife overland migration in the world. Around October each year, nearly 2 million animals travel 500 miles from the northern hills. This is from The masai Mara National Reserve heading southern plains across the Mara River.

From April the animals return to the north, through the west. They once again cross the Mara River in their migration into Masai Mara in Jun/ July. You will be met on arrival at the airstrip and enjoy a transfer to the luxurious Kirawira tented camp.

You will enjoy your lunch and an afternoon of rest. In the evening you will have an evening game drive as an introduction to Serengeti flora and fauna. Dinner and overnight will be at your Serengeti luxury camp.

Day 3 and 4: Serengeti national Park

Full days on Tanzania Romantic safari will be spent in the Serengeti National park. The days are devoted to game viewing in the great Serengeti National Park. This vast conservation area is larger than Northern Ireland. It lies between Lake Victoria in the west and Lake Eyasi in the south.

The Great Rift Valley is to the east. The landscape varies from open grass plains and savanna with scattered acacia trees. There are hilly wooded grasslands in the north and woodlands and clay pans in the west. Small rivers, lakes and swamps are scattered throughout the Serengeti.

The park has more than 70 large mammals and over 500 other animal species. They include large prides of lions and great herds of wildebeest, zebras and gazelle. In Serengeti you will enjoy outstanding game and bird viewing. Overnight will be at the Kirawira Tented Camp.

Day 5: Serengeti – Zanzibar

You will begin your day on Tanzania Romantic safari with breakfast. This will be followed by a morning game drive as you are being transferred to the airstrip. You will be in time for your light aircraft flight to Zanzibar.

You will be met at Zanzibar Airport upon arrival and transferred to your Stone Town hotel. This popular historical city has fascinating narrow streets and bustling market.

You will see ornately carved and studded doors, cathedrals and mosques of this ancient town. Here you are booked on half board basis.

Day 6: Stone Town, Zanzibar Island

Full days on Tanzania Romantic safari will be spent in Zanzibar. You will be allowed to explore fascinating Stone Town at leisure. Our suggestion is for you to begin with an optional walking tour through the historic old city and slave market.

Other attractions include the Arab Fort, the Palace Museum and Dr Livingstone’s house. Afterwards you can enjoy a traditional Dhow cruise, catamaran sailing, scuba diving or deep sea fishing. If you wish to explore further afield, take a Spice Island tour, Jozani Forest tour or view dolphins at Kizimkazi.

Day 7: Zanzibar Beach

You will enjoy an hour’s transfer from Stone Town to your Zanzibar Beach hotel.  It is time to enjoy the beach while on Tanzania Romantic safari. You will check in and relax in your wonderful beach surroundings.

On this exotic East African spice archipelago, you are booked on half board basis.

Day 8 to 10: Zanzibar Beach

Full days of Tanzania romantic safari will be spent at leisure. You will get time to relax on the warm golden Indian Ocean beaches of the Zanzibar Archipelago. You can enjoy a traditional dhow cruise, catamaran sailing, scuba diving or deep sea fishing.

If you wish to explore the island further there are tours for you. They include day excursions include a Spice Island tour, a snorkeling trip to Prison Island. Here you can see giant tortoises, a visit to Josani Forest or to Kizimkazi where you can see dolphins.

Day 11: Departure

You will start your day on Tanzania Romantic safari with breakfast. You will spend the rest of the morning at leisure. You will be picked up in time for a transfer to Zanzibar Airport. This is for your international flight home.
