Day 1: KAMPALA – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
You will be met for by our Uganda safari rep. He will brief you on this Uganda luxury safari to Queen Elizabeth. Enjoy a short transfer to Entebbe in time for the 0700 hrs flight to Kasese.
You will be met by our Uganda safari driver guide. Embark on a morning game drive at the Kisenyi area. You will be looking for lions, Ugandan kobs, leopard etc. Later proceed to your accommodation in Queen Elizabeth National Park for check.
There are a limited number of fabulous Tented Cottages overlooking the Mweya Peninsula. You will also get some of those luxury lodges i Queen Elizabeth facing the Kazinga Channel.
Each Tented Cottage is well furnished with and African Touch. Bathrooms are found in the back of each tent as an extension of your living quarters.
You have a view from your deck of the Kazinga Channel below. There is abundant wildlife and often you will see elephants and warthogs. You will not miss hippos and other animals from your tented cottage.
You will enjoy lunch at Mweya Safari Lodge. In the Mid-Afternoon the excitement begins. You will be off on your first game drive in Queen Elizabeth Park.
Each game drive is unveiling of the wonders of the African Wild. On each game drive there will be different surprises. This is from the lovable Warthogs with their raised tails, to the giant African Elephant.
There is the king of the beasts, the majestic Lion, Leopards and Cape Buffaloes. You cannot rule out Antelopes such as the Uganda Kob. The game drives in Queen Elizabeth become one of the highlights of your time here.
Each game drive lasts about three hours. The drive-time to the wildlife game tracks is most often shorter here in Uganda.
For the drives you'll have an experienced driver-guide and a Uganda Wildlife Authority Ranger. There is not much wildlife that you will miss.
About Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most popular of Uganda national parks. And for sure, it is one of the most scenic one.
This park is teemed with wildlife. This protected area is bounded by the high mountains of the Rwenzori in the north. It stretches along the shores of Lake Edward in the west. It hides the remote area of Ishasha in the south.
The natural beauty is overwhelming and diverse. We have green savannah plains with small acacia and euphorbia trees.
They are varied with sunken crater lakes and swamps. To the north its bounded by the snow-covered peaks of the Mountains of the Moon.
Not less than 57 different vegetation types have been identified. They can be summarized as the following five:
- Bushy grassland
- Acacia woodland
- Swamp vegetation.
Besides, the park is home to 95 types of mammals. it has the highest number of bird species found in any protected area in Africa! Rich variety in birds
Day 2: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast we’ll go for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Expect to see the famous Big Five; Elephant and Buffalos. You should also be ready for Lions, Bush bucks, Kobs, Giant forest hog, Hyenas and Waterbucks.
There are two other optional activities in the morning on this 3 days Uganda luxury safari. The first one being a Hot Air Balloon Safari, with a Bush Breakfast following.
The other one is to go on early morning Lion Tracking Research project. Here you go track lions who have electronic collar to them.
In the afternoon we’ll take a launch cruise along the amazing Kazinga channel. Here you will appreciate the scores of Hippos, Buffalos, and Crocodiles. Close to the waterside you may also see the rare Leopard prowling.
There is a variety of bird species especially the famous Shoebill, pelican and Jacana. Kazinga Channel is not only the place for hippos in Africa – it is the place for birders.
From the comfort of your boat, you will see by the hundreds and hundreds of birds on the shore, in the water and in the air. Birders can find over 40 species with ease while on the boat safari on Kazinga Channel.
Hippos and Birds are plenty here but so are crocodiles. You will also see monitor lizards, elephant herds, buffaloes and antelopes.
During the late afternoon you might see a predator coming to water before going on the night’s hunt. You will later enjoy a short game drive within the park.
Return for dinner and overnight will be at Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 3: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – KAMPALA
Wake up to an early breakfast at your Queen Elizabeth safari lodge. With game drive as you leave, check out of your lodge.
You will enjoy a transfer to the Kasese Airstrip. You will arrive in time for the 1020hrs flight to Entebbe. On arrival, you will be transferred and be dropped off will be at your Kampala hotel.
