Southern Cape Bushbuck, Bushpigs, and wild birds can frequently be seen. This is in the gardens of Nature’s Valley village. About Titsikama National Park
The Tsitsikamma National Park forms a section of the Garden Route National Park. It is at the heart of the picturesque tourist region known as the Garden Route. This is found in the Southern Cape of South Africa.
Tsitsikamma is a Khoisan word. They were the original inhabitants of the area. This word means a place of much water.
Approximately 30% of the park is covered in fynbos (Cape Floral Kingdom). They are scattered amongst the forest vegetation. It boasts a wide variety of beautiful flowers, including proteas and heath.
Cormorants, Kelp Gulls and African Black Oystercatchers are prominent along the coastline. Pied and Giant Kingfishers can both be seen hunting fish at tidal pools. They may also be seen in the rivers that drain into the Indian Ocean.
More inconspicuous, but also inhabiting these rivers are Half-collared Kingfisher and African Finfoot. The Tsitsikamma Forest is the haunt of the Knysna Loerie.
