South Africa adventure gives you a glorious 14 day southern African experience. South Africa adventure let you see and savor immense richness of the country. This South Africa adventure safari will start from Johannesburg. You are expected in Cape Town on the 14th day of the South Africa adventure. This 14 day South Africa adventure covers 5 provinces of the Rainbow nation. You will sample the wilds of Kruger Park to the cosmopolitan sophistication of Cape Town. This safari let you understand why South African is dubbed A World in One Country. South Africa adventure safari is a weekly tour departing every Sunday.
Day 1: Johannesburg
Our South African safari rep will meet you on arrival. This is at the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. After greetings and introduction, enjoy a transfer to your hotel in Johannesburg. You will have the rest of the day at leisure. You will gather to meet fellow travelers at 1900hrs. This will be at the comfort of your hotel’s reception. It is here that your tour guide will brief you on this South Africa adventure safari. You will sleep at the Protea Hotel Wanderers on bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2: Johannesburg – Pretoria – Mpumalanga (425 Kms)
You’ll begin your South Africa adventure day with a sumptuous breakfast. This will be followed by departure at 0830hrs. This 14 day South Africa adventure safari will head for Pretoria. This is South Africa’s capital city. Here you will enjoy a short orientation tour of the city. After this tour, you will then proceed to Mpumalanga. This drives you into the lush subtropical region of the Lowveld. The Royal South Africa safari goes via the historic towns of Dullstroom and Lydenburg. Your South Africa adventure will traverse through the famous Long Tom Pass. You’ll then travel via Sabie and arrive late afternoon into Hazyview. Your overnight will be at Perry’s Bridge Hollow Boutique Hotel. This is booked on bed and breakfast basis.
Day 3: Panorama Route (320 Kms)
Your South Africa adventure wakes up to a sumptuous early morning breakfast. You’ll then journey up the awe inspiring Panorama Route. Enjoy the forested mountains and fertile plains. Here you will be viewing the Blyde River Canyon. This is home to the Three Rondawels and Bourke’s Luck Potholes. You’ll later drive back to Hazyview arriving in the early afternoon. The free time allows for a lazy afternoon relaxation. You may stick around the pool or have exciting afternoon game activity. This will take you to the Kruger National park at an extra cost. Other optional include immersing yourself in a Feast of Culture. This is with a night of Shangaan song and dance at the Shangaan River Club. The overnight stay is on bed and breakfast at Perry’s Bridge Hollow Boutique Hotel.
Day 4: Kruger National Park (120 Kms)
You will wake up to an early morning breakfast. Your South Africa adventure will then set off to Kruger National Park. You are going to search for the big five. They include the lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. You’ll also be on the lookout for other wondrous wildlife, birds and plant species. You’ll return to Hazyview around lunch time. Your afternoon will be spent at leisure. The overnight stay is on bed and breakfast at Perry’s Bridge Hollow Boutique Hotel.
Day 5: Hazyview – Swaziland (310 Kms)
You will start your South Africa adventure with an early breakfast. This is to be followed by an enchanting drive to Swaziland. This is a former British Protection Territory. It is now ruled by King MsWati III. An interactive cultural experience introduces us to the charming people of Swaziland. You are here to learn about their cultures and traditions. Your drive proceeds through Mbabane, the capital city. You will be heading the beautiful Ezulwini Valley. Here you are invited to a true African shopping experience. Ezulwini Craft Market is packed with woven baskets, beadwork and carvings. Your accommodation on full board will be at Royal Swazi Spa Hotel.
Day 6: Swaziland – Hluhluwe (360 Kms)
You will wake up to your South Africa adventure leisure breakfast. Today you will depart Swaziland for a drive into Zululand. A long the way you’ll pass traditional round huts and endless vistas. You are expected to in Umfolozi area in mid-afternoon. The afternoon will be spent at leisure. You can optionally visit Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve. This is the jewel in the crown of the KwaZulu Natal game reserves. It is the oldest game reserve in Africa established in 1895. Overnight on bed and breakfast will be at Protea Hotel Umfolozi River.
Day 7: Hluhluwe – Durban (275 Kms)
This morning you’ll enjoy a cruise on Lake St Lucia. This is before your South Africa adventure departs for Durban. The drive goes through the lush KwaZulu-Natal coastline en route to Durban. Enjoy watching the sugar cane fields do their own version of the Mexican wave. You are expected in Durban in the early afternoon. The remainder of the afternoon will be spent at leisure. You will enjoy the golden beaches and warm waters of the Indian Ocean. You are booked on bed and breakfast at Protea Hotel Edward.
Day 8: Durban – Port Elizabeth – Knysna (360 Kms)
You’ll begin your South Africa adventure with breakfast. This is before being collected and transferred to the airport. Today you’ll enjoy a morning flight to Port Elizabeth. Please note that the cost of flight is not included in the safari. On arrival you’ll be met by our new tour guide. Your South Africa adventure then off to explore the Tsitsikamma section. This is in the Garden Route National Park. You’ll be treated to magnificent coastal views. You’ll also soak up to the beauty of the glorious, indigenous Tsitsikamma Forest. You’ll proceed to Knysna that’s perhaps South Africa’s most visually stunning resort. This is in the heart of the famous Garden Route. You will have dinner and overnight at Knysna Hollow Country Estate.
Day 9: Knysna
Today your South Africa adventure enjoys a cruise on the vast Knysna Lagoon. You will also visit the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Here you can enjoy an amazing view of the imposing sandstone ‘Heads’. These are what guard the sea entrance to Knysna’s huge tidal lagoon. They also protect the forests, marshes and pristine beaches beyond. You’ll have a break for lunch with the rest of the day at leisure. overnight will be at Knysna Hollow Country Estate. This is booked on bed and breakfast basis.
Day 10: Knysna – Oudtshoorn (210 Kms)
You will begin your day on South Africa adventure with a hearty breakfast. This is before you head underground to tour of the Cango Caves. The caves are some of South Africa’s most incredible natural wonders. As you leave, you’ll enjoy the wonderful views of the spectacular Outeniqua Pass. Oudtshoorn is known as the ‘feather capital of the world’. It is named so as it’s the centre of South Africa’s ostrich industry. Today’s lunch will feature Ostrich Steak on the menu. You’ll later get to learn more about these hardy, enigmatic creatures. This is during an afternoon tour of an ostrich farm. You will spend the night at Queens Hotel on bed and breakfast.
Day 11: Oudtshoorn – Cape Town (475 Kms)
Start your day on South Africa adventure with breakfast in Oudtshoorn. Today you’ll enjoy the ever-changing passing canvas. This is as your South Africa adventure travels to Cape Town. During the whale season you’ll travel via the seaside village of Hermanus. Here you’ll hope to have a glimpse of the southern right whales. This is normally from the month of July to November only. On other days you’ll return to Cape Town along ‘Route 62’. It is South Africa’s version of America’s ‘Route 66’. You’ll be dropped off at the President Hotel booked on bed and breakfast.
Day 12: Cape Town – Cape Peninsula (200 Kms)
You have a full day touring the ruggedly beautiful Cape Peninsula. This South Africa adventure winds its way through some spectacular coastal scenery in the world. You’ll make a stop at the fishing village of Hout Bay. Here there is an option of a cruise to Seal Island at cost. This is to watch the antics of these natural performers. South Africa adventure then continues to the Cape Point Nature Reserve. Here you’ll stop to see the lovable penguins at Boulders Beach. On the way back, you’ll drive through the quaint naval village of Simon’s Town. You’ll be in time for dinner at President Hotel in Cape Town.
Day 13: Cape Winelands Tour (200 Kms)
Today your South Africa adventure tours the beautiful and tranquil Cape Wine-lands. You’ll visit both Paarl and Stellenbosch. You’ll stop for wine tasting at two well-known estates. The trip goes by the impressive Huguenot Memorial Museum. You’ll also visit the Afrikaans Language Monument that provides a historical perspective. You’ll return to Cape Town for overnight stay at President Hotel on bed and breakfast.
Day 14: Departure
This is the last day of your South Africa adventure. It begins with breakfast at leisure. You’ll check out of your Cape Town hotel. This is in time for a transfer to the airport. You should be in time for your flight home.
