ASTHO Vacations – Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern all bookings made with
ASTHO Vacations (“the Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By making a booking, the client (“you”, “traveler”) agrees to be bound by
these Terms and Conditions.

1. Bookings and Reservations

  • All safari bookings are subject to availability at the time of confirmation.
  • A booking is confirmed only after receipt of the required deposit and issuance of a written confirmation by ASTHO Vacations.
  • Prices are based on current tariffs, park fees, taxes, and exchange rates and may be subject to change prior to confirmation.

2. Payment Terms

  • A 30% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your safari.
  • The remaining 70% balance must be paid no later than 30 days before the safari start date.
  • For bookings made within 30 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.
  • Failure to make full payment by the due date may result in cancellation of the booking, with applicable cancellation charges.

3. Cancellation Policy

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.

Cancellation charges are as follows:

  • More than 30 days before safari start: Full refund
  • 30–15 days before safari start: 30% of total safari cost
  • 14–7 days before safari start: 50% of total safari cost
  • Less than 7 days or no-show: 100% of total safari cost

Please note that some accommodations, airlines, or third-party suppliers may impose
stricter cancellation policies, which will apply accordingly.

4. Changes and Amendments

  • Any changes to confirmed bookings are subject to availability and additional costs.
  • ASTHO Vacations reserves the right to make changes to itineraries due to weather, road conditions, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances while maintaining the overall quality of the safari.

5. Travel Insurance

  • Travel insurance is recommended for all clients and should cover medical expenses, emergency evacuation, trip cancellation, loss of baggage, and personal belongings.
  • ASTHO Vacations is not responsible for any losses that could have been covered by insurance.

6. Health, Visas, and Travel Documents

  • Clients are responsible for obtaining valid passports, visas, and required travel documents.
  • Clients must ensure they meet all health requirements, including vaccinations recommended for safari destinations.
  • ASTHO Vacations is not liable for denied entry due to improper documentation.

7. Liability and Responsibility

  • ASTHO Vacations acts as an agent for hotels, lodges, transport providers, and other suppliers and cannot be held responsible for acts, omissions, or negligence of third parties.
  • Participation in safaris and adventure activities involves inherent risks, which clients acknowledge and accept.
  • ASTHO Vacations shall not be liable for injury, illness, loss, damage, delay, or expense arising from circumstances beyond its control, including weather, wildlife behavior, political unrest, or force majeure events.

8. Force Majeure

ASTHO Vacations shall not be held liable for failure to perform obligations due to events
beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, government actions,
strikes, or other force majeure events. Refunds will be subject to supplier policies.

9. Conduct During Safari

  • Clients are expected to follow the instructions of guides and lodge staff at all times.
  • ASTHO Vacations reserves the right to terminate a safari without refund if a client’s behavior endangers others or disrupts the experience.

10. Children and Age Restrictions

  • Certain safari activities and lodges may have age restrictions.
  • Parents or guardians are fully responsible for the supervision and behavior of children during the safari.

11. Photography and Marketing

ASTHO Vacations may use photographs or videos taken during the safari for marketing purposes
unless the client submits a written objection prior to travel.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of
Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, South Africa, Botswana, Madagascar, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, Zambia, or Zimbabwe,
and any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the relevant courts.

13. Acceptance of Terms

By confirming a booking and making payment, you acknowledge that you have read,
understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
